Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Beyond the Breath, including individual coaching sessions, group workshops, performance training and breath-related sessions.

Bookings and payment

Bookings are confirmed once payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed. Workshop places are limited and are reserved for the person who makes the booking. Prices are provided at the time of booking and may vary depending on the session, workshop or package selected.

Individual sessions and cancellations

Individual coaching sessions require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may be charged in full. Exceptions may be considered where there are unexpected or unavoidable circumstances.

Workshop cancellations and transfers

If you are unable to attend a workshop, please let me know as soon as possible. Where a workshop booking is cancelled within 7 days of the workshop, the booking may be transferred to another person or converted to a credit for a future Beyond the Breath workshop. Credits are subject to availability and any applicable expiry period. If you cancel more than 7 days before a workshop, you may request a transfer or credit. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any rights you may have under applicable New Zealand consumer law.

Minimum workshop numbers

Some workshops require a minimum of 3 participants to go ahead. If the minimum number is not reached, Beyond the Breath may postpone or cancel the workshop. If Beyond the Breath cancels a workshop for this reason, participants will be offered a transfer to another workshop date or a credit. Where appropriate, a refund may also be provided.

Coaching packages

Where a coaching package is purchased, all sessions must be used within 12 months of the purchase date, unless otherwise agreed. Unused sessions after this period will normally expire.

Participation and consent

Participation in Beyond the Breath sessions is voluntary. You may stop, modify or decline any exercise at any time and should communicate if you feel uncomfortable, unwell or unsure about participating. You are responsible for providing relevant information about your health or circumstances that may affect your ability to participate safely. Your separate Consent confirms that you understand that sessions may involve breathing exercises and, where appropriate, breath-hold practices.

Health and safety

Beyond the Breath sessions provide education, coaching and practical tools relating to breathing, awareness, regulation, focus and performance. Some exercises may not be suitable for everyone. Exercises may be modified, substituted or omitted where appropriate. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, take medication that may affect your response to exercise, or have any other concern about whether a session is suitable for you, please seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before participating. Beyond the Breath does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

Breath-hold and water-based activities

Where breath-hold practices are included, they will be introduced according to the nature of the session and the participant's experience and circumstances. Breath-hold practices must not be undertaken in water unless appropriate supervision and safety procedures are in place. Participants must follow all safety instructions given during breath-hold, freediving or water-based activities. Breath-hold exercises should not be practised alone.

Expected outcomes

Breathing practices and coaching can affect people differently. Beyond the Breath does not guarantee a particular physical, emotional, health or performance outcome from any session or technique.

Changes or cancellation by Beyond the Breath

Beyond the Breath may need to postpone, change or cancel a session or workshop due to illness, venue availability, insufficient numbers, weather, safety concerns or circumstances outside reasonable control. Where Beyond the Breath cancels a workshop or session, participants will be offered an appropriate alternative, such as a transfer, credit or refund.

Privacy

Personal information provided to Beyond the Breath is handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand privacy requirements. Information collected through booking, enquiry or participation forms is used only for purposes connected with providing and administering the relevant service, including health and safety considerations where applicable. For more information, please refer to the Beyond the Breath Privacy Policy.

Acceptance

By booking or participating in a Beyond the Breath session, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to abide by them. Your separate Consent confirms your understanding of the breathing exercises involved and your right to stop or modify an exercise at any time.
