Testimonials

- Leighton Rangi, Stunt Performer

“Training with Tineke was a complete game changer. The land-based breath hold work translated directly into my underwater performance and increased my underwater breath hold immensely. I felt noticeably calmer, more controlled and far more efficient in the water almost immediately. What stood out most was how consistent the progress was - the more I practiced the breath hold exercises, the longer and more comfortable my breath holds became. Tineke’s guidance made the process feel safe, structured and incredibly effective and it’s now an essential part of my preparation. This is an invaluable skill that needs to be taught. The impact on performance, confidence and safety is undeniable. Highly recommend more of this.”

- Ming Scott

“Together with my husband, I recently joined Tineke’s Beyond the Breath course. Tineke is an excellent instructor who provided us with a clear, thoughtful path to building both understanding and confidence. I was amazed by what we achieved in just three sessions.

I was surprised to discover that at the heart of extending your breath lies the ability to extend your capacity to relax. Tineke helped me reconnect to a stillness that is soft, curious, and open to exploring “what if” beyond what my mind thinks is possible. Very empowering. I’m grateful Tineke has provided this opportunity to learn this set of useful life affirming tools.”

- Bálint Józsa, Actor, Stuntman (MEAA graded), Martial Artist

“This freediving breathing course was eye-opening. The exercises really helped me understand how to hold my breath more efficiently and calmly and it gave me a whole new appreciation for breath control and discipline. It translates directly into stunt work and performance, and I walked away with a lot more awareness and respect for the process.”

- Melanie Eade, Yoga Teacher and Massage Therapist

“I recently completed the four-week “Beyond the Breath” course with Tineke and was genuinely impressed by both the quality of the information and the results I experienced. I learned so much about breathing techniques, oxygen, how the lungs work, and how to relax into longer breath holds safely and confidently. At the beginning of the course my breath hold was just 1 minute, and by the end I had reached 2 minutes 15 seconds. I was surprised by how much progress I made in such a short time. Tineke created a supportive and informative learning environment, and I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of breathwork and improve their capacity.”

- Joel Abadal, Stunt Performer

"I got in touch with my good friend Tineke to prepare for a new Stunt Doubling job I had. I did a one on one coaching session with her to prepare me for the movie Heart of the Beast where I was doubling Brad Pitt. I had to do long breath holds for underwater scenes. Her coaching gave me the right tools and skills to feel super confident. I highly recommend her coaching for anyone who wants to improve their water skills. She is the best! And an amazing human being."

- Steve Lafferty, business development manager

“A welcoming, supportive, and inclusive course where I felt safe throughout. I learned practical tools to manage focus and anxiety, and even held my breath longer than ever before. Tineke is friendly, knowledgeable, and creates a non-judgmental space. Highly recommended for anyone, whether for everyday life or freediving.”

- Justin Haiu, Stunt Performer

“Tineke demonstrated her impressive skills during a 15–20 person water assessment for Avatar Fire and Ash. She repeatedly went underwater, supporting each participant through their breath-hold practice. This included holding participants by the ankle as they performed near drowning on a breath-hold then surfacing immediately when they tapped to signal completion. Her attentiveness, calm presence, and confidence helped participants feel safe and supported throughout the assessment.”

- Alison Plazanet, Actor & Stunt Performer

"I can highly recommend Tineke as a free diving instructor, I did an SSI freediving introductory course and Tineke was one of the instructors. She had taught us some great relaxation and stretching exercises to prepare ourselves before getting into the water. Once in the water she was incredibly patient and encouraging, making me want to explore more of the freediving practices. Her technical knowledge is extremely valuable and her soft and reassuring presence just made the whole experience really positive. I hope to learn more from her in the future to better my skills.”

- Daniel Hunt, Actor & Stunt Performer

“Over the last 4 weeks Tineke has hosted the most amazing breath work training evenings. I knew it would be good for me but I didn't realise how much I'd get out of it. I learned that training the breath can be done with such ease and doesn't take much time at all. In one of the sessions I went from less than 2 mins holding my breath to over 3 mins by the end! Something I never thought possible for me.
It was interesting being in a group setting with this type of training, I felt like everyone was on an equal playing field and we were all there to learn regardless of our ability. It was super inclusive and non-judgemental as we were all just navigating our own breath and bodies and it didn't matter what was happening for those around us but at the same time we could relate and connect to the different human feelings and emotions that go on with this type of work.
I really loved the way Tineke coached us, not forcing us to do more than what we were capable of but allowing and encouraging us to push a little bit further each time. This created a healthy environment to learn and improve without pressure.
I'd highly recommend this workshop and other trainings run by Tineke in the future, as she brings a lovely sense of calm and peace into the space. I felt we were all seen and heard and encouraged with everyone's skills increasing over the 4 week period.
I hope to continue to learn from her in the future and see how far I can push my body!”
