About Beyond the Breath

Meet Tineke Robson

Hi, I’m Tineke - actor, stunt performer, freediving instructor, dive master and founder of Beyond the Breath.

I’ve spent most of my life exploring what the human body is capable of, from gymnastics, dance and physical theatre to film sets, stunt work and the underwater world.

My work has taken me into some pretty extraordinary environments, including working as a freediver and underwater stunt double for Sigourney Weaver on Avatar: Fire and Ash, where I worked with filmmaker James Cameron, stunt coordinator Garrett Warren and world-renowned freediving expert Kirk Krack. I've also worked on Deepwater, further developing my experience in underwater performance and water safety.

These experiences have given me a firsthand appreciation of what it takes to perform under pressure - physically, mentally and emotionally. Whether on set, underwater or in physical training, awareness, focus and the ability to manage your response to pressure can make a real difference.

And one thing that has always fascinated me is the role breathing plays in all of it.

Why Beyond the Breath?

Breathing is something we do every day, yet most of us rarely stop to consider how we breathe or how it influences the way we feel and perform.

Through my background in performance, stunt work, dance, boxing, yoga, running and freediving, I became increasingly interested in the connection between breathing, physiology and the nervous system.

That curiosity led me to explore breathing more deeply and eventually to become an SSI Freediving Instructor and create Beyond The Breath.

My approach combines breathing science with practical techniques to help people better understand their breathing, develop greater awareness and learn how to use it in everyday life and performance.

This isn't about forcing your breath or chasing a particular experience. It's about understanding your body, discovering what works for you and building skills you can take into the situations that matter.

Who I Work With

I offer breath coaching and performance training for individuals, actors, (stunt) performers, freedivers, children, businesses and teams.

For Performers

My background in sports, acting, stunts and freediving shapes the way I approach performance training. I understand the physical demands of performing and the importance of staying focused when the pressure is on.

Through practical breathing techniques and physical exercises, we explore how breathing can support preparation, concentration, recovery and performance under pressure.

For Individuals

Sometimes we just need to slow down, reconnect with our bodies and understand what's happening with our breathing.

Breath coaching offers practical tools to explore breathing patterns, support relaxation and develop greater awareness and control. Sessions can be tailored to your needs, whether you're looking to navigate everyday stress, anxiety, improve focus, support sleep or simply understand your breath better.

I also offer sessions for children and school students, using engaging, practical activities to explore breathing, develop focus and build skills that support learning and performance.

For Businesses & Teams

Modern working life can leave us sitting for hours, juggling deadlines and moving from one demand to the next.

Breath-focused sessions offer an opportunity to pause, reconnect with the body and explore practical techniques for supporting regulation, focus and recovery throughout the working day.

Sessions can be tailored to suit your team, workplace and goals.

Whether you're stepping onto a film set, into the water, onto a stage, into the workplace, or simply looking to explore your breathing, Beyond the Breath is about giving you practical tools to take with you.

Your breath is a tool. Learn how to use it.
